Jane Graham has more than 30 years of painting experience. She began painting along side her mother, also an accomplished artist. Both women were students of Maxine Pendry who studied under the preeminent figure, portrait, and still-life painter Daniel E. Greene. A brief repertoire of Pendry’s commissioned portraits include former Iowa Governors Robert D. Ray and Terry Brandstad, two Iowa Supreme Court Justices, Iowa Congressman Neal Smith, the Drake University law professors, and nationally published paintings of Christ through Ausberg Press.

Jane Graham is one of the fortunate few to have learned the Old Masters style of painting and to have carried on in that tradition.
"The Old Masters techniques I use are the techniques used by the great painting masters of the Renaissance and the seventeenth century. This technique is achieved by beginning with a value-toned underpainting of the image to be painted and through layers of glazes with color, giving the finished painting the illusion of depth and luminosity of color."

When Jane was 29, she began painting for an outdoor advertising company for eighteen years. There she painted every kind of subject matter imaginable, including portraiture, landscape, still-life, foods, and architecture. It was a great training field and by the end of eighteen years and 884 14ft X 48ft billboards, she could paint anything handed to her.

Unfortunately, all those works of art are whited out after a year's display and are gone forever. She is now available to put her professional talents to work for you.
